This year we have invited The Rev. Liz Armstrong to speak. She has been ever so gracious as the Rector of St. Augustine Episcopal Church to allow The Mom Conference to utilize the space of the church for this amazing day. She is a wonderful speaker and is speaking on an important subject for us moms. Even though Liz is a priest, there will is still no religion being discussed as we have always stated. Liz is a wonderful speaker, which is why Kara and Melissa thought she would be a huge asset to this conference. This is what her session will be about:
We will watch a TED talk by Dr. Brene Brown on the topic of vulnerability and shame and the session will include time for discussion. How do we learn to embrace our vulnerabilities and imperfections so that we can engage in our lives from a place of authenticity and worthiness? How do we cultivate the courage, compassion, and connection that we need to recognize that we are enough – that we are worthy of love, belonging, and joy? This shall be a fascinating session that I am sure we will want to go on beyond our time constraints.
